Bio: Sonia Barrett is globally recognized for her unique, in-depth and humorous style of explaining the virtual nature of reality. She has been a seeker of unrestricted knowledge since childhood. Her curiosity and persistence have guided her to a greater understanding of the veils behind which collective conscious is shrouded. She was born in Jamaica and at the age of 13, along with her parents, moved to the United States, residing in Evanston, Illinois and later attending Roosevelt University in Chicago. Although her interest then was in the area of music, there were also early sprouts of spiritual curiosity. She would later deepen and develop her strong drive for discovery and understanding both of herself as well as of the world around her. Sonia Barrett’s work is an embrace of the oneness of science and spirituality. She is the author of The Holographic Canvas: The Fusing of Mind and Matter, published in 2008. Her book has been hailed as an instrument of freedom for successfully liberating minds to step away from the status quo. Her work has been recognized by a number of respected scientists including Dr. Amit Goswami, PhD., Theoretical Physicist, Jacob Liberman, PhD., Vision Scientific, and Manjir Samanta-Laughton, MD, author of Punk Science and The Genius Groove. Sonia Barrett has facilitated hundreds of workshops, lectures and interviews. She is a certified PSYCH-K (psychological kinesiology) practitioner and provides life changing assistance and consultation to a large number of clients. CURRENT PROJECTS: Sonia Barrett is currently producing her first documentary, a 90-minute feature entitled The Business of Disease, along with its companion book (www.thebusinessofdisease.com). In Sonia’s word, the project explores the following ideas: “In examining social actions and responses, it is evident that in general we function in a fear-driven society, much of which is motivated by external stimuli; media and marketing. Unwittingly we surrender rights to our spirit, mind and body. Our perception is deluded in our attempt to make conscious choices. Our choices are then largely a result of stored conditioning. This converts into insecurities in making decision relating to our health and personal freedom. There is very little motivation or encouragement to trust our instincts which should precede external approval. The fact is that as individuals we are responsible for our bodies. We have an obligation to manage these bodies through which we experience the gift of life. To relinquish responsibility to doctors and pharmaceutical companies is to abandon self-reliance and self-responsibility which are essential features in the manner in which we manage our health.” Sonia Barrett may be contacted via email soniabarr@yahoo.com
