– Akilah t’Zuberi, Advocate for a New Earth
I would like to do a little experiment* with your assistance. If you have 3 rubber bands lying around, go and get them. Put the bands together, to make one large strong rubber band. Place the four fingers of your right and left hands inside the band. Now pull the band in opposite directions, stopping short at the tension that signals that any further pulling will snap one or all of the bands. Hold the rubber band in this position until you** are asked to release it.
The state of the rubber band, pulled in opposing directions, is a reflection of the state of your being in the separation. In our experiment here, you are being challenged to maintain some semblance of balance while you maintain the pull in opposite directions. As such, you will constantly adjust the tension, slightly letting go of the pull on the right or the left, trying to find some place from which you can rest from the resistance and tension you are feeling in your hands and arms.
The resistance you are feeling and the effort that you are putting forth to balance the opposing pull is a close replication of the balancing act you do to maintain the belief in separation in your life experience. You are not yet aware that you have complete control over your experience, nor are you aware that in the experience, you are the creator of this resistance, like you are now.
Every day when you awaken, you recreate this balancing act. The tension that you are constantly seeking relief from in your life experience is the result of the practice of beliefs in separation that are pulling you away from your natural or original state of being or consciousness.
You’re probably starting to feel like you want to put the rubber band aside now. But continue this balancing act just a little while longer. Don’t worry, the experiment will be over shortly.
Your natural state of being is a state of wholeness, with no separation or gaps (the breeding ground of conflict and discord). But when you live with the belief in separation, you are always seeking that wholeness and never finding it. You seek for peace and wholeness in the state of separation where it does not and cannot reside. The belief in separation is devoid of wholeness, which is the state where what you refer to now as “so-called” opposites rest in eternal peace. As an alternative, the separation offers the belief in “balance,” but you know from doing this little rubber band experiment that balance between opposing forces is impossible. Thus there is no balance to be found between peace and war, rich and poor, health and sickness, joy and sorrow.
Lest you think that you are not engaged in this kind of balancing act, and that this little experiment is not a reflection of what is going on in your life, note how many times you say about your life experience that it has its up and downs; its good and bad days; its joy, its sorrow; its dark and bright moments.
The history of the world, and your life in it, is nothing more than a record of failed attempts to find some balance within the tension that the belief in separation naturally produces.
Just as I guided you in the creation of this rubber band experiment, so the belief in separation guides you, from birth to death; it is the basis for all the systems that human beings have created, and these systems dictate your every movement, from cradle to grave. The state that you are experiencing, if you’re still holding on to the rubber band, is not your natural state of being. It is totally alien to you, but this is all that has ever been presented to you, and so you believe that this is all there is.
You can let go of the rubber band now.
Now in truth you can never separate yourself from who you truly are, but you can “believe” that you can and your life experience will reflect it. This lets you know something about the power of your mind. You create your life experience from your beliefs, true or not, and emotions. But your life experience, guided by false beliefs, will be one of a balancing act, one of tension, conflict, resistance and discord.
All over the world, people are growing weary of stretching themselves in opposing directions. They are weary of being dictated to by the belief in separation on the one hand, and the desire to follow their hearts on the other.
Some are becoming more aware of the fatigue of living life under the current system, but at the same time they are “not” aware of the illusion of balance. These people are seeking balance more than ever before. They are unyielding in their demands that some outside authority fix and repair (both a manifestation of the belief in balance) institutions and systems that have failed and will continue to fail them over and over again. This is the basis of all political and social unrest.
Then there are some who have become aware that all that is necessary, all that was ever necessary, is to do what you did a minute or so ago with the rubber band: lay the separation aside. These people are leaving behind the human experience which is what the separation was, just an experiment, like the one that you just conducted with the rubber band. The human experiment was conducted for the purpose of awakening us to who we are in truth.
Gods, co-creators of the Universe, or a better word would be the Multiverse. We are becoming aware that the separation, the experience of dichotomization and polarization, being pulled apart, has limits, as all experiments, or all experiences, conducted under the auspices of the belief in separation do.
Take note that it’s not the life experience that we want to eliminate. We’re not seeking to eliminate life in physical form; it’s the guide of the experience that must shift. Instead of experimenting with life under the guidance of the belief in separation, our deepest desire is to experience life under the guidance of the Source, a state of consciousness that we reside in, in eternal wholeness and peace.
So now begins the new experiment. In this new experience what we are going to explore is our new identity, discovered from the older experience, and create a physical representation of cosmic consciousness or unity consciousness.
Whoa! Akilah what does that mean?
It simply means we continue with the experience of living life in physical form. We change one of the independent variables in the experiment/experience: we will shift from being guided by false beliefs to new beliefs, i.e. we are the Universe, unique expressions of it in physical form; the Universe is eternal and eternally expanding in wholeness and peace, and so are we.
Since we are eradicating the beliefs in separation, we are simultaneously doing away with limits that defined the old experiment/experience. There are no boundaries to the expansion of the new experience. The outcome cannot be other than a new earth experience, where we are not only free to live, but to thrive, in limitless peace, joy, abundance and well-being. This is the new life experiment where there is no separation between who we are and the life experiences we create.
So be it. And so it is.
*I am using experiment and experience interchangeably here. The word experience comes from the latin word experiential: a trial, proof, experiment; knowledge gained by repeated trials.
**I am aware that I have begun this article in second person. This is done deliberately to bring attention to your unique experience within the separation. I will later shift to third person because I want to place your experience within the collective or “whole” experience of the shift in consciousness.
