Welcome to the January/February, 2016 edition of the Shift in Consciousness ezine

Happy New Year and welcome to the January/February, 2016 edition of the Shift in Consciousness ezine. I am relieved to have finally closed the door on 2015. I don’t know if you give much credence to numerology, but the sum of the digits of 2015 equals 8, the number of double completion. I found myself revisiting the past, the nailed-shut doors, the burned bridges, the released, worn out beliefs, and sighing relief that it is all done. Then, I listen to Kryon, channeled by Lee Carroll, saying that 2016, a sum of 9, signals disclosure or revelation, and we’re in for some big revelations this year. I’ll provide a link to Kryon’s end-of-the-year channeling, if you’re interested, in my article which is all about channelers and channeling.

Charles Eisenstein, visionary and de-growth activist, is in the guest blog spot. Aside from A Course in Miracles and A Course of Love, I am reading a lot less (I’m finished with Viking romances). I’ve noticed that few books hold my attention because they are simply repetitions and variations of old beliefs. I hunger for visions of the new.  Eisenstein’s latest book, The More Beautiful World That Our Hearts Know Is Possible, is one that I was able to read from cover to cover, even unto feeling some sadness about the essays coming to an end. Eisenstein is one of the most brilliant and articulate economic visionaries in this time of great shift. But even more, he lives his vision; his books are available to read, free, online. He does admit that he is interested in making money and you can purchase his books at Amazon. He knows and has experienced that the gifting of his talent is gifting to his Self, which is the Self of us all, and that gifting and receiving are “one.”

The Food & Art section is all about Will Allen, former professional basketball player, and creator of the Good Food Revolution.

In Science & the Sacred is an article from IFLScience. There is an expansion occurring in the areas of recycling, upcycling and repurposing. These are suggested practices that might be the cooperative components of our role in the co-creation of a new environment.

Finally, in Habitation & Living from Sustainable Human is the video How Wolves Change Rivers. I include this video on wolves because I have become aware of the limitation of “Housing & Living.” So I am expanding the idea of “housing” to “habitation” in order to include the life and habitation of plants and animals. We’ll see how it works. Remember to check out our real time bios, and, of course, great quotes.

I wish you the best of every good thing that the Universe offers! In joy ~Akilah
