Gallery: Leah Stoller’s Garden

Food & Art

Thanks to Leah Stoller for sharing photos of her Madison, Wisconsin organic flower, herb and vegetable garden. She also added photos of her chickens and their coop. Leah is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She and her husband are an example of what transpires when we take charge of what gets put on the dinner table. But, like me and many other urban gardeners, we have an overabundance of food. We cannot give it away and it’s impossible to eat it all. I live in a community where many of my neighbors are also gardeners. They are grappling with the same issue. Besides canning and freezing, we are confounded as to what to do. Restrictive city codes in Philadelphia do not allow us to pass on food to food banks like Philabundance. If you have any suggestions, please pass it on. Also, if you have photos of your garden, and/or gardening story, that you would like to share, please pass those along also.
