Welcome to the August, 2014 edition of the IWP Shift in Consciousness Ezine.

OMG! It’s August. We must be going through a quantum acceleration in time or something. I’ve noticed that I don’t even have time to worry about the normal stuff I worry about. By the time I start moaning and groaning, whatever I was worried about has passed away, and something quite pleasant and new is in its place.

This month I would like to discuss the idea of a “new earth.” There are many questions surrounding it: What will it look like? Who’s going to create it? How much is it going to cost? In the Guest Blog Spot is an article by Eckhart Tolle, “The Power of Now Spirituality and the End of Suffering.” Since I couldn’t get in contact with Eck (“the present moment” doesn’t have an email address or a telephone number), I have simply provided the link. In Science & the Sacred, Thich Nhat Hahn, author of The Miracle of Mindfulness, talks about the present moment in an article from Shambalah Sun. Recently, it seems like every time I turn around, someone is telling me that they are gluten-intolerant, so in Food and Art, Kristen Michaelis sheds some light on the subject in her article from Food Renegade. Finally, in Housing and Living is Natalie Chanin, who upon discovering that most of the cotton in the US is grown from genetically modified seeds, set out to grow organic cotton. All of the clothing at Alabama Chanin, a company she founded, is from organically grown cotton and is hand sewn. I am inspired by her energy.

Don’t forget to check out real-time bios. And always feel free to leave a comment or two. I would certainly appreciate it.

In joy ~ Akilah
