Here we are already in the second month of a new year and the second month of our new format. We’re still tweaking things, but over the next few months, my hope is that you will look forward to the newly formatted editions, available the 1st of every month.  There is so much information and so many ideas to share, and I am looking forward to the creation of each issue.

Many of us are becoming very conscious of how we care for our bodies. We are becoming more conscious of the relationship among what we eat, how and where our food is produced, and how we feel, physically and emotionally. The information I have chosen for this month focuses on this theme and I hope it is of some assistance to you. In the Science and the Sacred section this month is a must-see video. In the Food and Art section there is information about a seed, that is sold and labeled as a grain, quinoa.  In Housing and Living there is an article about the houses of Bay Area artist Gregory Kloehn; also, you might want to familiarize yourself, if you have not already done so, with the radically sustainable creations of Michael Reynolds, artist and biotech.

If you will notice in the Events Sidebar, I am attempting to include events that we can participate in from the comfort of our homes and communities. None of these events require money or transportation. In the Guest Blog Spot spot is Sonia Barret’s, “The Art of Being Human.” Barret is known for bridging the gap between science and spirituality in a user-friendly way.  I hope that you will enjoy this essay.  In Akilah’s Spot, I want to continue to talk about the power of our thoughts and beliefs, and specifically the belief in separation.  Don’t forget to take a look at our real-time bios. It is a unique feature, and one of my favorites.

I also hope that you will leave a comment or two, letting us know what‘s on your mind.  In joy.
