Welcome to the March/April edition of the IWP Shift in Consciousness Ezine

Welcome to the March/April edition of the IWP Shift in Consciousness Ezine. This is one of my favorite times of year, when I start garden planning. This year I am experimenting with more fruit trees, since the fig tree that I planted almost four years ago is thriving and bearing dark, sweet figs. I’m looking forward to getting back outside, and I’m also looking forward to sharing some fertile ideas that are cropping up all over the planet. This month I would like to focus on activism. Now don’t worry that I am about to encourage you to join a worthy cause or to sign petitions. I would like to look at activism that is initiated not from an external cause but from an interior shift and expansion of awareness.

In the Guest Blog Spot is a dialogue between theologian and author Matthew Fox and Sufi mystic Llewellyn Vaughn-Lee. Fox and Vaughn-Lee address our relationship with the earth and how we can heal ourselves by healing our relationship with the planet.

Science & the Sacred takes a look at another emerging activism, love activism. Alice Walker, who is described as a love activist, shares her ideas about a new way to live on the planet.

In Food & Art is a trailer of Spike Lee’s film Chi-raq. Lee looks at the violence in Chicago, Illinois’ U.S. by creating a contemporary interpretation of Aristophanes’ Lysistrata, a Greek comedy in which women withhold sex from their husbands for fighting in the Peloponnesian War.

In Habitation & Living is an account of the Peruvian oil spill that occurred on February 23, 2016. Three thousand barrels of oil have contaminated two rivers in the Amazon, devastating indigenous communities.

And there’s more, great quotes and our Real-time bio’s. I hope that you will enjoy this issue as much as I enjoyed creating it.

We are living in a time of accelerated shift. All over the planet, we are examining the old narrative of conflict and discord, poverty and war, separation and division. We are discovering that we have the power and the right to create a new narrative. Despite appearances, there is a divine unfolding on the planet and in the Universe.
